Cheng Dawei, an expert from the Beijing WTO Affairs Center, said that according to the statistical results, at present 56 kinds of export products in China are “victim” EU ​​trade remedy measures at the same time. This figure is relatively high globally. Some of these products have already undergone several anti-dumping or other trade remedies, but after the relief measures have expired, the EU has again launched protection measures such as “sunset review”, which has allowed the implementation period of trade remedy measures to be extended again and again.

In anti-dumping exports of various EU products to China, anti-dumping sanctions against Chinese leather shoes have lasted for nearly five years.

In July 2005, the EU started anti-dumping on Chinese leather shoes. In October 2006, it began to impose anti-dumping duties of 16.5% on Chinese leather shoes.
