The seatbelt pretensioner is activated in the same way as an airbag (using an impact sensor). The seatbelt pretensioner is designed to tighten the seatbelt in the event of a vehicle collision, thus securing the passenger to the seat.

The seat belt pretensioner is activated by the ignition device and is mounted close to the belt buckle or mounted on the inertia reel (usually at the bottom of the B- pillar), while the latter is more common (in new cars).

In the final stage of the collision, the G- force limiter at the seat belt device can expose the belt strap to a small amount. This can reduce the trauma of the seat belt to the chest while fixing the passenger on the seat. The load limiter can be used to make a simple belt stitch loop. This design can fail under a pre-determined load condition. Alternatively, the torsion bar mounted on the retractor will bend (again, when a predetermined load is reached), which allows the passenger to move forward a little.

2. Disconnect the 12V battery as soon as possible

3 , in the use of shears cut operation, be careful not to cut these parts

4. If the situation is safe, remember to remove the passenger's seat belt first (inform the police to ensure that it will not affect the police investigation)

5 , pre-tensioner may be installed in different locations on both sides of the car

! Remember - pretensioner may be mounted to the top or bottom of the B pillar or adjacent the seat. Not all vehicles are the same, so the location of components can also be different on different sides of the vehicle.
