At present, infrared lamps are mainly manufactured in three modes: 1, halogen lamps, 2, multi-chip LEDs, 3, single-chip LEDs.

Halogen is a very old technology, with high energy consumption, amazing heat generation and short service life. Because of its inefficient use, it is not really capable of long distances and is expected to exit the market soon.

Multi-chip LED is a very deceptive technology that requires a major counterattack. Multi-chip LEDs come in two main forms, one is "Piranha", which contains 4 to 8 chips, and the other is an array of light-emitting sheets containing 10 to 30 chips. Why do you have multiple chips? Their theory is: the infrared light irradiation distance is not enough because the energy is not enough, more chips are brought together, of course, the energy is large, taking it for granted that the irradiation distance is farther, which is really a typical amateur technology theory? Of course, the farther distance requires more energy, but not how much infrared light is emitted by the infrared light, but how much infrared light is selected by the camera. Due to the intrinsic shortcomings of its structure, multi-chip LEDs have no luminous focus, the illuminating optical system is unreasonable, and the useful light efficiency is relatively low (of course, several times stronger than halogen lamps). The advantages have not been exerted, and fatal injuries have come out. For example, array LEDs, currents up to 1000mA or more, are basically just a penny coin size, and heat dissipation becomes a problem. LED is most afraid of high heat, not bad, it is strange. At the same time, the production requirements of multi-chip LEDs are very strict, and each chip can not have a difference in performance. Otherwise, one chip is broken and the whole machine is completely played.

The single-chip LED production process is simple, the quality is easy to guarantee, the heat generation is low, and the illuminating optical system is reasonable. It is an ideal device for infrared camera illumination, and the theoretical service life can reach more than 100,000 hours. So, is the life of a single-chip LED lamp for all infrared cameras good? In fact, this is far from the case. There are many reasons for this. For example, some LED chips are very low in level and impurities are excessive; some production processes are not closed, there are leakage; some are super power, rated at 20mA, using 50mA or more; some have no protection circuit, or circuit design. Unreasonable, these will cause the single-chip LED infrared light to break quickly.

In order to ensure the life of the infrared lamp, we must first select a high-grade LED chip. The high-grade chip has high power, good consistency, high luminous efficiency, and low heat generation. A high-grade LED is 10 times better than ordinary LED. It is also very expensive. Secondly, the optical system should be designed reasonably, with uniform illumination, high utilization, and fast heat dissipation. Third, strictly control the voltage, the LED is very sensitive to the voltage, the voltage is slightly higher, the LED die will burn out; slightly lower, the amount of luminescence will be greatly reduced. It is best to match high-quality switching power supplies. According to China's harsh power supply environment, it is best to input from 170 volts to 270 volts. Fourth, the input power cord is preferably resistant to high, low temperature, super soft and resistant to bending. There is a factory-produced infrared lamp, the input power cord can be used at a low temperature of minus 60 degrees, and the high temperature is less than 250 degrees. The lower four or fifty degrees is soft like silk, which shows its professionalism. Such products are trustworthy.
