Hebei's steel exports in 2014 first in the country

From the key industry news conference held by Hebei Economic and Industrial Union Corporation, it was learned that in 2014, the crude steel, steel, and pig iron in the Hebei steel industry completed 185,303,400 tons, 239,952,400 tons, and 169,325,700 tons, respectively. Compared with the same period of last year, crude steel and pig iron decreased by 0.6% and 0.99%, respectively, which was the first negative growth in the past 14 years from 2000 to the present.

In the face of the difficult situation in which domestic demand is not booming, Hebei iron and steel enterprises are striving to open up foreign markets and expand steel exports. Last year, Hebei Province exported 271.714 million tons of steel, an increase of 89.3% year-on-year. Hebei's steel exports accounted for 28.93% of the country's total exports, ranking the first among all provinces, municipalities, and regions, and setting a record high. In the same period, the province imported 252,900 tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 8.59%.
