Roychand and his team mainly used manufacturing by-products to combine nano-silica with fly ash, slag and hydrated lime to produce their new cement-free concrete. "Our zero-cement concrete achieves multiple advantages: it is environmentally friendly, can reduce concrete corrosion by 96%, and completely eliminates residual lime that helps to form fat," Roychand said. "With further development, our zero cement concrete can be made into fully acid-resistant concrete."
