Toshiba Machinery Introduces New Electric Injection Molding Machine

Toshiba Machinery recently launched the "EC-NII Series" electric injection molding machine. Through the use of newly developed injection mechanisms and high-power servo motors, the replication efficiency of plastic products with ultra-thin and fine features has been improved. This series of injection molding machines includes nine models with a clamping force of 20 to 350 tons.

The injection mechanism and the servo motor have the characteristics of small inertia and high response performance. In terms of injection speed, the fastest model is 550mm/sec, and the standard model is 425mm/sec. In terms of response speed, high-speed models and standard models are up to 330% and 240% faster than the original models. The injection mechanism reduces the inertia and improves the long-term running performance, so that the load can be stably changed even if the load changes drastically. Moreover, the pressure can be maintained for a long time without a cooling fan.

The calculation processing capability and temperature control function are improved by equipped with a controller capable of processing at a high speed of 10 times. High-speed servo control with improved load response performance enables stable formation even in the case of high-speed response. The main unit can store 300 molding conditions, 1000 monitoring points and 1000 processing history. These data can be used for statistical analysis of forming quality and management of production. With multi-point monitoring (35 points), it can display and analyze 16 monitoring points at the same time.

With plug-and-play (Plug-in) function, you can read the molding conditions and data of monitoring, waveform and history from the external memory. In addition, it is also possible to manage the set values ​​and current values ​​of these devices, as well as the alarms, by connecting them to the unloader, temperature regulator and dryer. Also, software for saving and editing external memory data on your computer is included.

In addition, the research effort has been increased on the layout of the operation screen, and the shortcut button and the copy button are set, thereby improving the operability.
