Thin-walled steel barrel manufacturing process characteristics

At present, mass production of 160 liters of asphalt barrel thickness 0.6mm, diameter 500mm, height 875mm, capacity 160L, is a typical thin-walled steel drum.

The processing of thin-wall steel drums has its own process characteristics. First of all, in the barrel seam welding, it is necessary to grasp the precise welding current and other process parameters so as to prevent the welding breakdown caused by the thin wall of the material.

Due to the weak axial stiffness of the thin-walled barrel body, it is easy to cause instability during the extrusion of the folded edge and cause the barrel body to be destroyed. Therefore, the squeeze-folding apparatus should be equipped with an accurate pressure adjustment device to ensure the accurate axial pressure of the flange. .

Thin-walled barrels have weaker material strength and should be protected during processing. The ring stiffeners and corrugations of the barrel should adopt the inflation pressure processing process instead of the traditional rolling process. This is due to the fact that the rolling process makes the material thinner in the deformation of the barrel and destroys the strength of the material, while the expansion pressure process maintains the original strength of the material (see the attached figure).

Xi'an Machinery Research Institute's production line adopts process equipment such as barrel-type combined forming machine, and its hydraulic transmission device has precise pressure adjustment links, so that the pressure of the machine tool can meet the barrel body pressing and folding, and it will not be caused by axial pressure. Causes the bucket to lose stability and cause damage. The ring ribs and corrugated expansion press process used in the production line replaced the traditional rolling process and ensured the material strength of the thin-walled barrel body. What's more, the wide ribs formed by the corrugating and expanding process greatly increase the overall stiffness of the barrel, which is very difficult for thin steel drums.
