The basic meaning of polymer insulation materials
Polymer insulation materials are also called polymer dielectrics. A polymeric material used to isolate charged or different potential conductors that allow current to flow in a certain direction. Its volume resistivity is generally greater than 109 Ω·cm. Most of the polymer materials have excellent insulation, a wide variety, a wide range of raw materials, easy processing, and reliable performance, so the application is very extensive. In the 1980s, consumption in some developed countries accounted for more than 5% to 15% of total polymer materials consumption.
The heat resistance of polymer insulation materials has a great influence on its use, and can usually be divided into seven heat resistance grades of Y, A, E, B, F, H, and C.
