A large amount of coalbed methane resources have been discovered in the 870 square kilometers of the mined area that has been investigated, and the predicted resource is about 31.1 billion cubic meters. . Coalbed methane, commonly known as gas, is known as the "first killer" of coal mine safety. At the same time, it is an environmentally friendly energy source that is cleaner, more efficient and safer than oil and natural gas. According to the data of Shanxi Provincial Department of Land and Resources, Shanxi is rich in coalbed methane resources. The predicted reserves of shallow coalbed methane with a depth of 2,000 meters in the province are about 8.3 trillion cubic meters, accounting for nearly one third of the national total. By the end of 2015, the total proven CBM reserves of Shanxi Province were 758.401 billion cubic meters, accounting for 88.0% of the country. In April 2016, the Ministry of Land and Resources commissioned the partial examination and approval of coalbed methane exploration and mining in the administrative area of ​​Shanxi Province, which was directly accepted and approved in the past, to Shanxi Province. Shanxi Province subsequently issued the “Implementation Opinions on the Approval and Supervision of Coalbed Methane Mining Rights”, proposing that in the future, the coalbed methane mining rights will be subject to competition with the consent of the Shanxi Provincial Government and the implementation of the unified regulations of the Ministry of Land and Resources. In August of this year, the Ministry of Land and Resources of Shanxi Province issued a public announcement of 10 coalbed methane exploration rights, such as Liulin Shixi and Jiexiu, through the portal website and related media, attracting 22 domestic and foreign enterprises to participate in the competition and cooperation. The survey units involved Beijing, Shandong, Guangdong and other provinces (cities), and finally seven new enterprises entered the field of coalbed methane exploration and development. Industry experts said that after coal mining, there is still a large amount of coalbed methane resources in the well. The coalbed methane resources in the goaf are mainly composed of adsorbed gas and free gas, mainly derived from the residual coal seam, the free gas and the adsorbed gas in the adjacent uncovered coal seam and surrounding rock. The technicians can evaluate and analyze the coalbed methane resources in the goaf by establishing the water storage calculation in the goaf and the water saturation calculation model. It is understood that the area of ​​the goaf caused by coal mining in Shanxi is nearly 5,000 square kilometers. It is estimated that the coalbed methane resources in the goaf of the whole province are about 210 billion cubic meters, which has considerable economic benefits and development potential.
