The Russian Institute of Chemistry and Mechanics invented the "Diamond-like Superhard Materials Explosive Preparation Method" a few years ago, and it is also possible to obtain polycrystalline synthetic diamond by this method. Diamond phase part: 98-100%%; density: 3.30-3.35 g/cm3; maximum hardness: 7000-7500 HV (Vickers hardness unit); withstand pressure: 1100-1200 MPa; diameter: 10-30 mm. The explosive method of diamond-like superhard materials invented by Russian scientists is unique in the world. The maximum hardness of such materials prepared by high temperature and high pressure in South Africa, the United States, Japan, Belarus and Ukraine is about 4000-6000 HV, which is far lower than the ultra-hard materials obtained by the explosion method. In addition, the Russian method does not require complicated and expensive equipment and does not require a high level of staff. The process of production is virtually free of waste.
