Research and Analysis of Refractory Materials for Hood Furnaces

1、Bladder furnace lining refractories status

The lining refractories of the former hood furnace are generally made of refractory bricks. Due to the high thermal conductivity and high density of the material, the lining refractory is poor in resistance to quenching and rapid heating. In the process of use, the energy consumption is large, and the life of the burner area is short. Therefore, there is an urgent need to replace conventional refractory bricks and imported refractory materials.

2. New progress in the application of special refractories

After many years of exploration and application, our factory has developed and developed special refractories for bell-type furnaces, and can produce different types of bulk density, specifications, and shapes of bell furnace-specific fibers and vacuum-forming fiber bricks according to different parts of use. Among them, the bulk density of the patented lightweight fiber brick is 260500kg/m3, Al2O3+SiO299%, compressive strength 200kPa, bending strength 350kPa, thermal conductivity 1250e<0.24W/mK, and re-shrinkage line shrinkage [email protected]<2 %, maximum operating temperature up to 1550e.

For example, a large-scale enterprise has replaced more than 40 hearth furnaces with fire-resistant bricks and refractory materials imported from our factory, and has achieved remarkable results. This year, another cold rolling plant adopts a brand-new lightweight fiber brick scheme, which involves the conversion of 15 fully-hydrogen dome furnaces at one time. The technology of replacing refractory materials and firebricks with refractory materials imported from domestic furnaces has matured.
