Procter & Gamble will introduce shampoo bottles made of recycled plastic

Procter & Gamble announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that it will launch a limited edition of the Head & Shoulders brand of shampoo. This summer, the plastic bottle will be sold in limited quantities at the Carrefour supermarket in France. And by the end of 2018, it plans to sell 1 billion bottles of shampoo bottles made from 25% recycled beach plastic in the European market.

According to Procter & Gamble, the big goal in 2018 is to produce a large number of covered containers made of recycled plastic. Although recycled beach plastics can attract some attention, the company is still committed to the recycled plastics and recycling market.

Virginie Helias, vice president of the company, said at a press conference that 90% of the hair care products in the European market will be made from recycled plastic. This will probably require 2,600 tons of recycled plastic, about the weight of eight fully loaded 747 jets.
