According to reports, the technology irradiates the semi-finished parts of the tire through the high-energy electron beam emitted by the accelerator, which promotes the cross-linking reaction of the rubber compound, which can effectively improve the rubber performance and enhance the strength.

With this technology, the rubber is uniformly stressed and expanded in the molding and vulcanization process, and the shape and size stability of the semi-finished parts can be maintained in the subsequent production process.

According to the data, some large foreign tire manufacturers have adopted this technology in the production of passenger car radial tires, and its penetration rate in Japan has reached 91%.

"We found the Development and Reform Commission before, and applied for 8 million yuan to start the fund. Later, we went to the Japanese company for inspection." Zhao Wenyan said.

However, tire irradiation pre-vulcanization technology was not accepted by domestic companies at the beginning.

“In 2007, at a forum in Qingdao, I made a half-hour report to tire companies from all over the country. But the response was very small.”

Zhao Wenyan still remembers that only one or two companies participated in the discussion. The chief engineers of some large tire companies directly refused: 'I have worked on tires for a lifetime, and I have never heard of irradiation technology. '"

Chen Dianhua, former secretary general of the China Association of Isotope and Radiation Industry, also said: "In the process of promoting the industrialization of nuclear technology, we did find that many enterprises, especially state-owned enterprises, are very occluded and unwilling to contact new technologies, so the resistance is great."
