Goodyear concept tires can convert frictional heat to power electric vehicles

Tyres are a key factor in ensuring vehicle comfort and performance, but can you imagine that one day tires will also provide power to the car? At the Geneva Motor Show, Goodyear, a world-renowned rubber manufacturer, demonstrated a new concept tyre that can convert heat energy generated into electrical energy to power electric vehicles.
It is reported that Goodyear named this tire "BHO3". This tire is made of thermal piezoelectric material, which can gather the heat energy generated by the tire and the ground during driving, and eventually charge the battery of the electric vehicle to increase the mileage. In addition, BHO3 is also designed with a black texture that absorbs light and absorbs heat, which converts light and heat into electricity when the car is parked in the sun and ambient air temperature rises.
However, Goodyear did not disclose more details about this tire, nor did it answer questions about which types of roads the BHO3 can apply to, and how much energy can be collected.
Last year, Audi revealed that it is developing a suspension system with a power generation function that allows the suspension damper to raise the temperature to 100-120 through the suspension system's up and down movement and friction when the vehicle passes over a bumpy road. In degrees Celsius, this heat can be recovered by an energy recovery device located on the suspension system and eventually converted into electrical energy that can be stored in an on-board battery pack. This system seems to be similar to the Goodyear BH03.
However, since it is a concept product, it means that this tire may not enter the market soon.
