Earlier this year, we learned that Zhejiang manufacturers have produced a new type of life jacket that looks like a down jacket. The fabric is a very striking orange-red waterproof fabric made of soft foam. We think it is very practical to discuss the joint pilot promotion with the fishery administrative authorities of coastal counties (cities, districts).

Starting in March, we gave this kind of life jacket to fishermen in key fishing villages and towns such as Lianjiang, Changle and Fuqing. When the fishermen looked at it, they liked it very much. Even many fishermen demanded their own purchases. So we successively purchased this kind of life jacket with Zhejiang manufacturers and gave it to fishermen for free.

By the end of December 2013, we have invested a total of more than 120,000 yuan to purchase more than 1,500 pieces, all of which have been presented to fishermen for free. According to reports, fishermen wearing such life jackets on the sea can not only shelter from wind and rain, but also keep warm and easy to operate, and are well received by the fishermen. At present, many fishermen working at sea have put on such life jackets. Even when villagers in many fishing villages go to sea, they put on such life jackets, which greatly reduces the probability of fisheries accidents in our city.
