China breaks through the core technology of ultra-precision processing equipment

The core technology of ultra-precision processing equipment that can control the fine movement of one-tenth of a millimeter has made a breakthrough in China. On the 7th, the scientific and technological achievements of the national “863” key project with China's independent intellectual property rights passed the national appraisal in Shangyu, Zhejiang. This means that China is among the first international players in the manufacture of ultra-precision processing equipment.

The reporter saw at the production workshop of Zhejiang Sun Co., Ltd. that the crankshaft driven grinding machine manufactured by this technology and the international top-class grinding machine simultaneously processed the same type of crankshaft. The appraisal experts separately extracted the machined parts and used the internationally recognized authoritative testing equipment for comparative inspection. The roundness error of the connecting rod neck of the machine tool was only 0.0028 mm, which was significantly lower than the 0.0042 mm of the comparative machined parts.

Professor Lei Yuanzhong, an expert in ultra-precision processing and an honorary director of the China Society of Mechanical Engineering, told reporters that having the ability to manufacture precision machine tools is an important symbol of a manufacturing powerhouse. Currently, only a few countries in the world have these technologies. In order to improve the overall level of manufacturing, China has been actively exploring. This core technology of ultra-precision processing equipment is an original breakthrough, which has practical significance for promoting the development of China's machine tool industry and improving the overall level of manufacturing.

Ma Jingkun, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of the China Machinery Industry Federation, said that machine tools are the working machine of the manufacturing industry. Last year, China's machine tool production reached 250,000 units, but they were all medium and low-end products. Precision and ultra-precision machine tools have been unable to break through and need to rely on imports.

It is understood that in April 2012, the project has passed the acceptance of the expert group of the Ministry of Science and Technology. At present, the crankshaft follower grinding and camshaft grinding machines and numerical control cylindrical grinding machines developed by using the technical achievements have been applied in Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
